DNE LASER's 17-year cutting head development history epitomizes the advancement of China's laser cutting technology. Guided by a customer-oriented philosophy, the company first broke foreign monopolies in its early years, then spearheaded the transition from manual to automated and intelligent cutting systems. Today, through collaborative R&D, it delivers smart and high-efficiency cutting solutions. Looking ahead, DNE LASER is committed to developing more comprehensive intelligent laser processing systems, driving the industry toward full-scale intelligent manufacturing.
The laser cutting head is a core optical component that delivers laser energy to the material surface. Its core optical technology fundamentally determines processing quality. Through multiple generational advancements-driven by evolving laser sources and increasing power demands - cutting heads have progressively evolved toward intelligent functionality in today's smart manufacturing era.
Since its inception, DNE has specialized in advancing cutting head optical technologies. By leveraging transnational R&D collaboration within our corporate group and aligning with intelligent manufacturing trends, we have successfully developed seven generations of cutting-edge laser cutting heads.
When DNE Laser pioneered China's laser cutting technology in 2008, we achieved a critical breakthrough by independently developing our first-generation manual-focus cutting head for YAG solid-state lasers. By overcoming core optical technology barriers, this innovation significantly enhanced equipment compatibility and operational stability—propelling DNE to capture 60% of China's domestic market between 2008-2014.
Building on this success, our second-generation cutting head refined the manual-focus design with optimized performance, becoming the backbone of early laser cutting systems nationwide. More importantly, these achievements inspired domestic competitors to pursue self-developed cutting head technologies, collectively breaking foreign monopolies.
In 2016, DNE launched the third-generation laser cutting head – a pulse-controlled auto-focus model. This cutting head overcame the problems of low efficiency and poor precision in manual focusing, significantly improving piercing and cutting speeds. Through continuous optimization in subsequent years, it further enhanced anti-pollution, anti-corrosion, anti-aging properties and sealing performance, greatly improving cutting stability and accuracy. In the same year, DNE
consolidated its market position with two newly developed cutting heads of 500W and above 1000W.
As China's laser cutting industry entered the groundbreaking 10kW+ power class in 2018, DNE responded with unprecedented manufacturing investments
Established ISO Class 10 clean-room facilities (≤10 particles/ft³ at 0.1μm)
Implemented German-engineered process standards across:
Precision optical design & simulation
5-axis micro-machining
Automated optical inspection
Ultrasonic cleaning protocols
In 2019, it launched the 4th generation cutting head compatible with 12-15kW, capable of cutting 50mm carbon steel plates and stainless steel.
Leveraging group-wide technological synergies, DNE revolutionized laser processing in 2021 with our 5th generation cutting head, establishing new benchmarks through three core breakthroughs:
unmatched optical precision, embedded smart systems, and integration system. Its collimating and focusing cavities are integrally processed through five-axis linkage, with a precision of 0.01mm. It incorporates intelligent detection and automatic cleaning functions: built-in sensors monitor real-time operation, and a cleaning device in the cavity automatically discharges dust, eliminating manual operation.
DNE's 6th generation cutting heads series delivers specialized solution for complex bevel cutting applications across both tubular and flat materials. The pipe cutting machine bevel cutting head launched in 2021, with a power range of 1-4kW, adopts a ±45° dynamic design, which can maximize energy utilization efficiency and optimize the spot quality on the working surface, being suitable for various customized pipe cutting; the sheet bevel cutting head launched in 2022 perfectly integrate with high laser power and ±45°bevel cutting in any planar direction, and has the advantages of faster response, higher movement speed and more compact structure.
In 2022, DNE, in strategic collaboration with the group, proudly introduced our revolutionary 7th generation By-Power intelligent cutting head. Its intelligent upgrades include real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity, constant temperature control at ≤45℃, and real-time monitoring of operating status and indicators via a mobile app. For hardware, it adopts aspherical convex optical lenses to enhance bearing capacity and light transmittance; high-quality lenses strengthen beam performance; and an independent protective lens chamber facilitates maintenance.
